Headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland, W.E.
Bowers is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the
Washington, D.C., metro area according to the Washington
Business Journal, with combined billings in excess of
$71 million annually. The company is consistently ranked among
the top specialty contractors in the nation according to Engineering
News-Record.
Bowers provides award-winning mechanical construction, plumbing,
and HVAC service to general contractors; high-tech companies;
property managers; local, state, and federal government agencies;
and hospitals and laboratories. Since its inception in 1984,
the company has been committed to developing long-term relationships
with its customers through a dedication to building systems
knowledge and expertise, superior service, practical applications
of advanced technology, and continuing education and training.
To provide specialized expertise and responsive service,
Bowers is organized into two companies: construction
and service. The
construction group provides comprehensive mechanical construction
services for new buildings, renovations and additions, tenant
projects, hospitals, laboratories, central plant upgrades,
and design-build projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
The service group provides HVAC systems installation, repair,
and maintenance. The service group's clients include telecommunications
and IT companies with major data centers and other critical
sites throughout the country.
Although separate, the two companies support each other
in several ways. The service technicians provide 24-hour emergency
repairs for construction company warranty calls, and the construction
team is on hand to replace chillers, boilers, and cooling
towers for the service company in emergency situations. In
addition, the construction company offers its clients plumbing
and HVAC service contracts at the conclusion of its new construction
and renovation projects.
